Frequently asked questions
What everyday people ask before getting started.
Is MyJusticeAI a law firm?+
No. MyJusticeAI provides legal information and AI-assisted document tools. We do not provide legal advice or representation.
What types of cases are supported?+
Traffic tickets, DUI defense, debt collection, landlord disputes, license suspension, and small claims — with more case types added over time.
How does the AI analyze my documents?+
When you upload a citation or letter, the system runs OCR, extracts key facts, identifies risk factors, and generates a recommended set of next steps tailored to your state.
Is my data private?+
Your case data is stored securely. Drafts saved during onboarding are kept on your device until you continue.
What does it cost?+
Your first case is completely free. After that, continue with a $20/month subscription that unlocks unlimited document generation, court reminders, and attorney matches.
When should I hire an attorney?+
For serious charges, complex litigation, or anything where liberty or large financial liability is at stake, MyJusticeAI will match you with a qualified local attorney.
How does billing work on the live site?+
All payments are processed by Stripe using a real card. Your card is charged immediately at checkout, you'll receive an emailed receipt from Stripe, and the charge will appear on your statement as MYJUSTICEAI (via Stripe). Subscriptions renew automatically each month until canceled; one-time credit packs are charged once.
What payment methods are accepted?+
All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link where available. Payment details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout — MyJusticeAI never sees or stores your card number.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?+
Sign in and open the billing portal from your account page to update your card, download invoices, or cancel anytime. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.
What should I do if I see a payment issue?+
If your card is declined, double-check the number, expiration, CVC, and billing ZIP — most declines come from the issuing bank and resolve by trying again or contacting your bank. If you were charged but didn't receive access, wait a minute for the webhook to post and refresh the page; if it still hasn't applied, email support@myjusticeai.org with your Stripe receipt and we'll reconcile it manually. For refund requests or duplicate charges, contact support within 30 days and we'll work with you directly.
